Principal's Corner

Note from Mr. Goss

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Wendell High School, “Home of the Trojans.” I am much honored to have the opportunity to be your principal at this great school, in a community that has been so supportive to our students, staff and to me. Over the course of the year I look forward to getting to know each one of you and finding out about your successes. Your outstanding staff and I would like to let you know that every effort possible has been made to provide you with an exceptional education for the 2016-2017 school year. I will continue to pursue our school’s vision, “Learning for Life.” It is my hope that your years at Wendell High School will prepare you for whatever opportunities you wish to pursue in the future. To do this, I am very pleased that Wendell High School is able to offer a wide range of courses and extra-curricular activities that you can participate in. For a school our size it is very impressive all the choices that you have. I encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities, to challenge yourself to take risks, to not be afraid to set your goals high and to work hard to achieve them. If you do this, and I am confident you will, and are well-prepared for whatever post-secondary plans you may want to pursue. I would like to make a special welcome to our new ninth graders. This is a big year for you. I’m sure you will do your best to get your high school career off to a strong start. If you have any questions, be sure to ask your TAG advisor, counselor, staff or fellow upperclassmen who will be glad to help you. Your dedicated staff has spent countless hours to develop and implement programs that have been designed to enrich your educational experience. These programs also play an important role in helping you meet the state high school graduation requirement of achieving a proficiency score on the ISAT test. Please read this student handbook carefully. It is important that you understand all the regulations and procedures so that your school year goes smoothly. Finally, I wish you all success. With your help and the help of the staff and your parents we can make it happen.
